From the Founder of the Virtual Business Group…
It is with mixed emotions that I send this message out to each of you. As most of you already know, I’ve been extremely busy over the last year with my businesses and family. As a result, I have been unable to devote the time and attention to the Virtual Business Group that it both needs and deserves.
My determination to make the Virtual Business Group the premier organization for all virtual professionals has been stunted by my inability to squeeze more time out of my day (I’m sure each of you can relate!). This has made me really disappointed at my lack of results and progress with VBG. None of this is news to any of you.
Now for the good news… God has sent the right trio to my door to take over management of the Virtual Business Group! Paula Dodds, Patty Benton, and Dolly Hooker have presented me with their goals for VBG and have convinced me that they are ready to boldly go where I couldn’t go before! They are ready to take VBG to the next level and I’m SO excited to see where we end up!
Won’t you come along for the ride?
~Renae Bolton, Founder of the Virtual Business Group
A Letter From the New Owners…
First, we want to thank Renae for starting such a wonderful, supportive group and to see the potential in our partnership. Thank you not only for that, Renae, but also for staying on with us as an advisor since you have literally “been there, done that” with everything regarding VBG.
We also wanted to take a second of your time today to introduce ourselves:
Patty Benton is the co-owner and operator of JERPAT Virtual Assistants, JERPAT Virtual Training & Coaching and JERPAT Web Design, at http://www.virtualvacoach.com and www.moretime4u.org. Patty has been a member of VBG since 2005. She started her career as a teacher, but upon having her first child, she desired to be at home. After exploring her stay at home career options, Patty felt that the virtual assistance business was the best way to utilize her talents and still be available to her children. After many struggles and mistakes, Patty gained her first client. She has since then built a successful business working primarily with coaches and non-profit agencies. In 2005, Patty decided to take what she had learned in starting her business and created JERPAT Training & Coaching. Through her program, she has assisted 30 Virtual Assistants to successfully set up and run their virtual assistance businesses. Patty understands the demands of owning a business, working from home, and raising a family. She has 2 daughters and a son born in 2002, 2005 and 2007, and was additionally blessed with 2 sons in 1998. They were born in 1991 and 1992. She has a wonderful husband who works tirelessly beside her to raise their family and run a business.
Dolly Hooker is the owner and operator of Silver Valley Administrative Services. In 2004, Dolly Norris Hooker suddenly found herself unemployed when the company she worked for closed down. Having worked from home since before the birth of her now 7-year-old son, Dolly dreaded the thought of having to look outside the home for work. About this time, Dolly met Patty Benton through an online group for Christian moms, who introduced her to the world of Virtual Assistance. Dolly quickly signed up to become one of JERPAT’s initial coaching students. Dolly also understands the demands of being a business owner and having a family. In addition to their 7-year-old, Dolly and her husband have 2 sons, a daughter and 3 grandchildren.
Paula Dodds is the co-owner and operator of P.S. Dodds – Innovative Web & Administrative Services, at http://www.PSDodds.com. She has been working from home since 2000 in order to be able to care for her two little girls, ages 7 and 5. Her husband operates the web design and hosting side of their business. In addition to her VA business and raising her daughters, she also sells coffee for Kat’s Coffees & More, www.TheCoffeeNut.com.
We are very excited as we’re getting ready to launch the redesigned VBG site (because of this, the old site will be temporarily unavailable over this weekend) and add onto the benefits list that Renae did such a wonderful job starting.
We invite all comments and suggestions you would like to send us for VBG’s future expansion and potential.
We see such huge potential in VBG and in all of you!
Thank you,
Dolly Hooker, Patty Benton and Paula Dodds
